Conspirator in Methamphetamine Distribution Ring Sentenced To More than Fifteen Years

Tampa, FL - U.S. Attorney Robert E. O'Neill announces that U.S. District Judge Elizabeth A. Kovachevich today sentenced Miguel Godinez (27, Haines City) to 188 months in federal prison for distributing over 50 grams of methamphetamine.

Godinez pled guilty on July 13, 2011.

According to court documents, between at least October 2009 and June 30, 2010, Godinez worked with others to distribute methamphetamine in Polk County. On June 30, 2010, Godinez sold 9 ounces of methamphetamine to an undercover officer in Kissimmee. On March 4, 2011 Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agents seized over 400 grams of methamphetamine from Godinez’s Dodge Ram.

This case was investigated by Drug Enforcement Administration and the Polk County Sheriff’s Office as part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces investigation. It was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Christopher F. Murray.
