
Illegal Alien Sentenced To More Than 2 Years In Federal Prison On Re-Entry Charges
Orlando, Florida - U.S. District Judge John Antoon, II sentenced Mario Estrella (29, Mexico) last week to 26 months in federal prison for illegal re-entry into the United States. The court also ordered Estrella to serve a 2-year term of supervised release upon his release from prison. Estrella pleaded guilty on August 16, 2012.
According to court documents, on November 17, 2004, Estrella was convicted of throwing a deadly missile at or into an occupied vehicle, a felony in Florida. He was subsequently deported to Mexico on December 17, 2009. On May 13, 2012, Immigration officers found him in Orange County without permission to be in the United States.
This case was investigated by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO). It was prosecuted by Special Assistant United States Attorney Myrna Amelia Mesa.
