Prior to becoming U.S. Attorney, Mr. Albritton was a partner at Holland & Knight L.L.P. Based in the firm's Tampa office, Mr. Albritton practiced with Holland & Knight for 18 years and concentrated his criminal and civil practice in three primary areas: "white collar" criminal defense, the prosecution and defense of claims relating to trade secret theft, noncompetition agreements and other restrictive covenants; and litigation involving telemarketing, direct mail marketing, consumer and unfair and deceptive trade practice claims.

In 2008, Mr. Albritton served as President of the Tampa Chapter of the Federal Bar Association. He also previously served as co-chair of the Hillsborough Bar Association's Criminal Law Section. During 1996, Mr. Albritton served as the President of the Hillsborough Country Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Court T.V., a national cable channel, televised Mr. Albritton's trial victory in State of Florida v. Wilson.

Mr. Albritton served as an adjunct professor of law at Stetson University College of Law from 1998 to 2004, where he taught both Federal Courts and Federal Criminal Law Seminar. He is the author of the chapter of Environmental Crimes in Corporate Fraud Investigations and Compliance Programs, written by Eugene M. Propper and published by Oceana, and a contributing co-author to the Corporate Compliance Answer Book 2008 written by Holland & Knight and which will soon be published by the Practicing Law Institute.

Mr. Albritton earned his B.A. in 1979 from New College of the University of South Florida and a Master's Degree in Theological Studies in 1982 from Harvard Divinity School. Mr. Albritton is a 1988 honors graduate of Boston College of Law School. From 1988 to 1990, Mr. Albritton served as a law clerk to United States District Judge William Terrell Hodges of the Middle District of Florida.

Mr. Albritton was recognized by Key Professional Media, Inc as a "Florida Super Lawyer" in 2008 and by Florida Magazine as one of the "Legal Elite" in 2007 and 2008 in the area of Criminal Law.
