Nine Escambia and Santa Rosa County Residents Arrested on Federal Charges

 

Pensacola, Florida - United States Attorney Gregory R. Miller, Northern District of Florida, announced today that nine men were arrested yesterday on federal criminal complaints alleging that they violated federal narcotics laws, firearms laws and criminal immigration laws. The criminal complaints allege that members of this group were not only responsible for the distribution of cocaine and methamphetamine throughout the area, but also responsible for harboring illegal aliens. Three restaurants, “Cancun’s Mexican Grill” in Gulf Breeze, Florida, “Cancun’s Mexican Restaurant” in Navarre, Florida and “7 Mares Mexican Restaurant” in Pensacola, Florida were involved in this investigation.

All nine men made their initial appearances in federal court today. They included: Alejandro Hatem-Hernandez, 28; Rogelio Galvin-Chavez, 35; Antioco Cabrera-Esquival, 34; Jesus Rodriguez-Orosco, 34; Cesar Maldonado-Bazquez, 28; Miguel Angel-Gamez, 38; José Vieyra-Camarillo, 29; José Louis Martinez-Alvarez, 30; and Fernando Alcazar-Carmona, 26.

This case was investigated by Pensacola Police Department, Gulf Breeze Police Department, Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office, Florida Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco, Florida Department of Law Enforcement, United States Drug Enforcement Administration, United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Internal Revenue Service, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Federal Bureau of Investigation, United States Marshals Service, and the United States Attorney’s Office. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney David L. Goldberg.
