DEFENDANT SENTENCED TO 327 MONTHS ON COCAINE CONSPIRACY

Mascara, Sheriff, St. Lucie Sheriff’s Office, Bruce Colton, State Attorney, Nineteenth Judicial Circuit, R. Sean Baldwin, Chief, Fort Pierce Police Department, J.R. “Jack” Parker, Sheriff, Brevard Sheriff’s Office, Al Lamberti, Sheriff, Broward County Sheriff’s Office, and Michael Satz, State Attorney, Seventeenth Judicial Circuit, announced today’s sentencing of defendant Todd Jackson, Sr., 42, of Rockledge, FL. Jackson was sentenced by U.S. District Judge K. Michael Moore to 327 months’ imprisonment, to be followed by 10 years of supervised release, on charges of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute more than five kilograms of cocaine, in violation of Title 21, United States Code, §846 and 841(a)(1).
In November of 2008, ATF, DEA, FDLE, the Saint Lucie County Sheriff’s Office, and the St. Lucie State Attorney’s Office began an investigation of Todd Jackson Sr.’s drug distribution network, which was operating in the Treasure Coast and Brevard County. The investigation revealed that this drug distribution network was part of a larger cocaine trafficking organization based out of Broward and Palm Beach Counties, which was importing multiple kilograms of cocaine from Haiti and the Bahamas for distribution in Broward, Palm Beach, St. Lucie and Brevard Counties.
During the investigation, numerous state and federal search warrants were executed at various locations in St. Lucie, Brevard, Broward and Palm Beach Counties. The operation resulted in the seizure of approximately 243 kilograms of cocaine powder, 80.5 grams of crack cocaine, 477 grams of marijuana, 618 grams of ecstasy, 12 firearms, $114,002 in U.S. currency and jewelry with an estimated retail value of approximately $443,855 dollars.
Mr. Sloman commended the investigative efforts of the Drug Enforcement Administration, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, Florida Department of Law Enforcement, St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office, St. Lucie County State Attorney’s Office, Fort Pierce Police Department, Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, Broward County Sheriff’s Office, and Broward State Attorney’s Office. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Jennifer C. Millien and Antonia Barnes.
