TWO SENTENCED TO FEDERAL PRISON FOR TRADING FIREARMS FOR NARCOTICS

United States Attorney Maxwell Wood, Middle District of Georgia, announced the sentencing of NICOLE WENSIL, age 19, of Leesburg, Georgia and ROBERT DOCTRIE, age 27, of Albany, Georgia before the Honorable W. Louis Sands United States District Judge.

WENSIL entered a plea of guilty to conspiring with other individuals, including ROBERT DOCTRIE, to possess with intent to distribute one kilogram of cocaine as well as possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. Under the terms of a written plea agreement, WENSIL acknowledged that she and others attempted to exchange three firearms, including two semi-automatic rifles and one 357 Magnum pistol, $5,000.00 in cash and a Nissan Altima automobile for one kilogram of cocaine. WENSIL was sentenced to 14 years and 3 months without parole to be served in federal prison.

DOCTRIE also entered a plea of guilty to conspiring with NICOLE WENSIL and other individuals to possess one kilogram of cocaine with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug crime. DOCTRIE was sentenced to 15 years without parole to be served in federal prison.

The case was investigated by the officers of the Albany-Dougherty Drug Unit together with agents of the United States Drug Enforcement Administration, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Jason M. Ferguson.
