BAINBRIDGE DRUG DEALERS SENTENCED TO FEDERAL PRISON
United States Attorney Maxwell Wood announces the sentencing of Rufus Walker, age 40, and Clifford Thomas, Jr., age 27, both of Bainbridge, Georgia, to federal prison by the Honorable W. Louis Sands of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Georgia, on November 1, 2007.
Both Thomas and Walker previously pled guilty in federal court to distributing crack cocaine in the City of Bainbridge. Walker was sentenced to 17 years and 6 months to be followed by 5 years of supervision upon release. Thomas was sentenced to 5 years and 6 months to be followed by 5 years of supervision upon release. There is no parole in the federal system.
The cases were investigated by Drug Enforcement Administration Task Force Agent Frank Green and investigators with the Bainbridge Department of Public Safety. Assistant United States Attorney Jason M. Ferguson prosecuted both cases.
