COCAINE TRAFFICKER SENTENCED

Maxwell Wood, United States Attorney, announced that on December 11, 2007, Timothy Dewayne Lowder was sentenced to seventeen (17) years in prison without parole.  Lowder, age 38, was a resident of Macon, Georgia, prior to his arrest.

His arrest was based on a two (2) count indictment which charged him with distribution of more than five (5) grams of crack cocaine.  Lowder entered a plea to Count One of the Indictment before the Honorable Hugh Lawson, District Court Judge for the Middle District of Georgia, on September 27, 2007.

The plea agreement contained a stipulation of fact in which Lowder agreed that on September 07, 2006, he met a confidential informant at a hair salon in Macon, Georgia.  He further agreed that during the meeting with the informant, he sold the informant twenty (20) grams of crack cocaine.

The case was investigated by agents from the Macon Office of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Charles Calhoun.

Questions concerning this case should be directed to Sue McKinney, Public Affairs Specialist, United States Attorney’s Office, at (478) 621-2602.
