CRACK COCAINE DEALER CONVICTED

United States Attorney, Maxwell Wood, announces that on January 10, 2008, ROBERT HODGES, age 26, of  Homerville, Georgia was sentenced to 135 months in federal prison without parole.

Hodges entered a plea of guilty to possession with intent to distribution  crack cocaine.  As part of the plea agreement, Hodges stipulated that on April 6, 2007 he was driving a vehicle southbound on Interstate I-75 in the Middle District of Georgia.  A traffic stop was conducted by law enforcement. Found in the back of the vehicle behind the driver’s seat was a plastic bag with four bricks of powder cocaine weighing 3,992.22 grams and two softball sized balls of cocaine base weighing 513.69 grams.

United States Attorney Maxwell Wood stated: “ defendant’s sentence reflects the aggressive stance his office will take to those who distribute crack cocaine in the Middle District of Georgia.”

The case was investigated by Agents from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. It was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Jennifer Kolman.
