COCAINE TRAFFICKERS SENTENCED

Maxwell Wood, United States Attorney for the Middle District of Georgia,  announced that Henry Stubbs, Jr., age 40, of  Warner Robins, Georgia, was sentenced on April 10, 2008, to nineteen (19) years in Federal prison without parole.

On January 9, 2008, Stubbs pled guilty to possession of one (1) kilogram of cocaine with the intent to distribute.  Stubbs stipulated that on June 06, 2007 he arranged for a courier to transport twenty-thousand dollars in cash to Atlanta, Georgia for the purpose of buying one (1) kilogram of cocaine.  After purchasing the cocaine, Stubbs along with the courier, left the Atlanta area and were subsequently stopped in Butts County in a traffic stop which revealed the cocaine hidden inside a Chevy Tahoe.  The case was investigated by officers from the Warner Robins Police Department.

Tavares Middlebrooks, age 30, of  Thomaston, Georgia, was sentenced on April 10, 2008, to eighteen (18) years in Federal prison without parole.  Middlebrooks pled guilty on January 11, 2008 to one count of selling less than a gram of crack cocaine to a confidential informant.  Middlebrooks stipulated that on July 24, 2006 a confidential informant called him and arranged to purchase a quantity of crack cocaine.  Following the phone call the informant met Middlebrooks at a residence in Thomaston, Georgia, where the sale took place.  The case was investigated by agents from Thomaston Police Department Drug Squad.
