GUILTY PLEA TO POSSESSION OF CHILD PORNOGRAPHY
MACON: Maxwell Wood, United States Attorney for the Middle District of Georgia, announces that JOHN LEE ANDERSON, III, of Macon, entered a plea of guilty today in U.S. District Court before the Honorable Hugh Lawson to an information which charges the offense of “Possession of Child Pornography,” in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 2252(a)(4)(B). The defendant faces a statutory maximum sentence of ten years imprisonment, a maximum fine of $250,000.00, or both, a term of supervised release of not less than five years up to life, and a mandatory assessment of $100.00.
The information to which ANDERSON entered a plea of guilty alleges that on or about April 21, 2006, he possessed visual depictions on his computer of minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct, which depictions had been transported in interstate commerce. Sentencing will be at a date and time to be announced later.
The case was investigated by the Macon office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and by the Bibb County Sheriff’s Department. For additional information, contact Sue McKinney, Public Affairs Specialist at 478-621-2602.
