SENTENCING FOR TAX VIOLATION

MACON:  Maxwell Wood, United States Attorney for the Middle District of Georgia, announced that ELMERA V. DEJARME of Milledgeville, Georgia, was sentenced on June 30th this week before the Honorable C. Ashley Royal, United States District Judge for the Middle District of Georgia.  Dejarme was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment followed by two years of supervised release, and she was ordered to pay restitution to the Internal Revenue Service in the amount of $361,599.60.  On August 4, 2008, Dejarme entered a plea of guilty to one count of Tax Evasion in violation of Title 26, United States Code, section 7201.

The case was investigated by the Macon criminal investigations office of the Internal Revenue Service.  Assistant United States Attorney Paul McCommon prosecuted the case for the government.
