Federal Case Involving Manufacture of Marijuana

May 9, 2011

Michael J.  Moore, United States Attorney for the Middle District of Georgia, announced that Joseph Hance Henderson, having been indicted by a federal grand jury for manufacture of marijuana, was arrested and taken before United Magistrate Judge Thomas Q.  Langstaff on April 25, 2011, for an Initial Appearance hearing.  Mr.  Henderson was given bond of $15,000.00.  Arraignment is scheduled for May 11, 2011 in Albany, Georgia.

An indictment is only an accusation, and the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty at trial.

Agents of the South Georgia Drug Task Force and officers with the Echols County Sheriff’s Office investigated and participated in the arrest of Henderson.  Assistant United States Attorney Leah McEwen is handling the case for the government.

Inquiries regarding the case should be directed to Sue McKinney, Public Affairs Specialist, United States Attorney’s Office at (478) 621-2602.
