G.F. "Pete" Peterman III

G.F. "Pete" Peterman is the Acting United States Attorney for the Middle District of Georgia. Pete is a graduate from the Walter F. George School of Law, Mercer University (1976).

Pete was an associate with Bennett and Dantzler (June 1976-February 1977), solo practice in Macon, Georgia (March 1977-May 1981). He was an Assistant District Attorney in the Macon Judicial Circuit (May 1981-December 1983) where he handled both trial practice and appeals. Pete was a partner in the firm of Stone, Christian and Peterman (January 1984-May 1990).

Pete became an Assistant United States Attorney, Middle District of Georgia in May 1990. He has also served as the Criminal Division Chief and First Assistant to the United States Attorney.

Pete is also an Adjunct Professor of Law in the area of trial practice at Mercer Law School.

Pete and his wife, Susan, reside in Macon.
