Bank of America Military Customer Scam

A new phishing scam targeting Bank of America Military Bank customers has surfaced. The phishing email takes the typical approach, warning that the account will be deactivated if action isn't taken immediately. Predictably, the 'required' action is to login via the link provided in the email, which of course leads to a nefarious website (which has nothing to do with the real bank). Any information entered on that website will be captured and sent to the criminals behind the phishing attack.

There's a little twist to this particular phish, though. The email advises entering your checking account and social security numbers as your login credentials. The entire Bank of America Military Customer email reads as follows:

“Dear Bank of America Military Customer,

This is your official notification from Bank of America Military Bank that the service(s) listed below will be deactivated and deleted if not renewed immediately. Previous notifications have been sent to the Billing Contact assigned to this account. As the Primary Contact, you must renew the service(s) listed below or it will be deactivated and deleted.
