U.S. ATTORNEY RECEIVES LAW AND ORDER AWARD FROM HONOLULU ELKS

The United States Attorney's Office for Hawaii announces that U.S. Attorney Ed Kubo received the 2008 Law and Order Award from the BPOE Honolulu Elks Lodge 616 on March 19, 2008.

For 100 years, the Honolulu Elks has been committed to community service and promoting patriotism in Hawaii. They award college scholarships to graduating high school students, participate in a variety of programs to help veterans and youth in our community, and they assist and support charity organizations in Honolulu. Anyone wishing to inquire about membership should call (808) 923-5525 or email info@elks616.org.

The award was given to Kubo in appreciation for his public service to the State of Hawaii and for upholding the law and administering justice. Since becoming the U.S. Attorney for Hawaii, Kubo has worked tirelessly in bringing down drug trafficking organizations, and sending many repeat offenders to prison. His leadership has made the State a safer place through an outstanding law and order approach to fighting crime.

"I am honored to receive this prestigious award from the Honolulu Elks, an organization known for its public service to our community and for helping our veterans. This recognition is truly one I share with all of my partners in Hawaii’s law enforcement community, who have worked so hard to reduce crime in our state," said Kubo.
