Mexican National Sentenced on Immigration Charges
Davenport, IA- On December 10, 2007, Jesus Munoz-Lopez, 33, of Mexico, was sentenced to 1 day imprisonment for fraud and misuse of documents (Count 1) and 24 months imprisonment for aggravated identity theft, with the latter sentence to run consecutive to the sentence on Count 1, announced United States Attorney Matthew G. Whitaker. United States District Judge John A. Jarvey also ordered Ortiz-Camarillo to serve a three year term of supervised release following his incarceration and to pay an assessment of $100 to the Crime Victim Fund.
This investigation was conducted by the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The case was prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa.
