Des Moines Man Sentenced On Counterfeiting Charge
DES MOINES, Iowa - On December 19, 2007 Stanley Chris Davis, age 44, of Des Moines, Iowa, was sentenced to a term of 31 months imprisonment for conspiracy to counterfeit Federal Reserve Notes, announced United States Attorney Matthew G. Whitaker. United States Chief District Judge Robert W. Pratt also ordered Davis to serve twenty-four months of supervised release, and to pay an assessment of $100 to the Crime Victim Fund.
On December 19, 2007, Davis entered a plea of guilty to the conspiracy to counterfeit Federal Reserve Notes. At the time of his plea, Davis stipulated that from November 2004 until January 2005, he participated in the production of counterfeit 1, 5, 10, 20, and 100 dollar Federal Reserve Notes.
This case was prosecuted by the United States Attorneys Office for the Southern District of Iowa. This case was investigated by the United States Secret Service.
