Omaha, Nebraska Man Sentenced On Escape Charge
DES MOINES, IA - On January 4, 2008 Vincent I. Adkins, age 41, of Omaha, Nebraska, was sentenced to a term of 21 months imprisonment for escape from custody of CH, Inc., a halfway house in Council Bluffs, Iowa, announced United States Attorney Matthew G. Whitaker. United States District Judge James E. Gritzner also ordered Adkins to serve three years of supervised release after his imprisonment, and imposed an assessment of $100. On July 23, 2007, Adkins entered a plea of guilty to the escape charge. At the time of his plea, Adkins stipulated that on April 21, 2007, he left the CH, Inc., halfway house, without permission and did not return to the institutional facility to which he was lawfully assigned.
This case was prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa. This case was investigated by the United States Marshals Service.
