Council Bluffs Resident Sentenced To 57 Months For Possession Of Firearms
Des Moines, IA - On February 11, 2008, John Robert Pierce of Council Bluffs, Iowa, was sentenced to 57 months imprisonment for being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm. United States District Judge James E. Gritzner also ordered Pierce to serve a two year term of supervised release following incarceration and to pay an assessment of $100 to the Crime Victim Fund.
Pierce entered a guilty plea to possession of a firearm by a person who had a previous conviction for domestic violence and for being a drug user in possession of a firearm on September 13, 2007.
The investigation was conducted by the Council Bluffs Police Department, the SWINE Task Force, the Pottawattamie County Attorney’s Office, and the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
