Keokuk Man Sentenced On Conspiracy To Manufacture And Distribute Marijuana
DAVENPORT, IA - On February 13, 2008, Roger Houston, age 60, of Keokuk, Iowa, was sentenced to a term of 16 months imprisonment for conspiracy to manufacture at least 100 marijuana plants and distribute marijuana announced United States Attorney Matthew G. Whitaker. United States District Judge John A. Jarvey also ordered Houston to serve a three year term of supervised release, and imposed an assessment of $100.00 to the Crime Victim Fund. Additionally, the Court imposed restitution in the amount of $1691.45 to the Keokuk Police Department.
On May15, 2007, Houston entered a plea of guilty to the conspiracy to manufacture at least 100 marijuana plants and distribute marijuana charge. At the time of his plea, Houston stipulated that from on or about January 2003, and continuing until on or about mid-September 2006, that he conspired to manufacture well over 100 marijuana plants and distribute said marijuana.
This case was prosecuted by the United States Attorneys Office for the Southern District of Iowa. This case was investigated by the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, Keokuk Police Department, Lee County Drug Task Force, Lee County Sheriff’s Department, Muscatine Sheriff’s Department, Wilton Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
