Keokuk Man Sentenced on Federal Gun Charges

Davenport, IA- On December 22, 2008, Steven Joseph Cramer, 42, of Keokuk, Iowa, was sentenced to 18 months imprisonment following his earlier guilty plea to one count of Possession of Stolen Firearms, announced United States Attorney Matthew G. Whitaker. United States District Judge John A. Jarvey also ordered that Cramer serve a two year term of supervised release following his incarceration, $1060 in restitution based on financial loss suffered by the American Legion, and assessed him $100 to the Crime Victim Fund.


The offense involved his possession of eight M-1 Garand .30 caliber rifles and one Japanese Type 14 pistol.

This investigation was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Forearms and Explosives and the Keokuk Police Department.
