Davenport Man Sentenced On Federal Drug Charges

DAVENPORT, IA - On December 22, 2008, Napoleon Alexander Jackson, age 21, formerly of Davenport, Iowa was sentenced by United States District Court Judge John A. Jarvey to 120 months in federal prison, announced United States Attorney Matthew G. Whitaker. Jackson was sentenced after pleading guilty to possession with the intent to distribute at least five grams of crack cocaine. After his release from prison, Jackson will be subject to eight years of supervised release. Jackson was also ordered to pay an assessment of $100 to the Crime Victim Fund.


Pursuant to a investigation conducted by the Iowa Department of Public Safety, Division of Narcotics Enforcement and the Davenport Police Department, law enforcement officers conducted a controlled purchase of crack cocaine in Davenport on December 4, 2007. After arrest, Jackson was also found in possession of approximately 13 grams of crack cocaine, intending to distribute some or all of it to another.


There is no parole in the federal system. This case was prosecuted in the United States Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of Iowa. This investigation was conducted by the Davenport Police Department and the Quad Cities Federal Gang Task Force.
