Waukee Man Sentenced on Counterfeiting Charge

DES MOINES, Iowa - On February 23, 2009, Brandon Michael McHenry, age 31, of Waukee, Iowa, was sentenced to a term of 33 months imprisonment for counterfeiting federal reserve notes, announced United States Attorney Matthew G. Whitaker. Chief United States District Court Judge Robert W. Pratt also ordered McHenry to serve a two year term of supervised release upon his release from prison and pay an assessment of $100.00 to the Crime Victim Fund.


On October 10, 2008, McHenry pled guilty to the counterfeiting charge. The case arose out of an investigation conducted by the Urbandale Police Department. On December 19, 2007, members of the Urbandale and Waukee Police Departments executed a search warrant at the residence shared by McHenry and his co-defendant, Debra Parizek. During that search Officers seized a large quantity of counterfeit U.S. currency as well as a computer, printer and paper. The United States Secret Service was called in to assist in the investigation. Parizek has also pled guilty to the counterfeiting charge and is awaiting sentencing.


This case was prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa. This case was investigated by the Urbandale and Waukee Police Departments and the United States Secret Service .
