Davenport Man Sentenced on Child Pornography Charges
Davenport, IA- On July 16, 2009, David Robert Anders, 45 of Davenport, IA, was sentenced to 150 months imprisonment for one count of Receiving and Distributing Child Pornography, announced United States Attorney Matthew G. Whitaker. United States District Judge John A. Jarvey also ordered that Anders serve a term of 10 years supervised release following his incarceration and pay $100 to the Crime Victim Fund.
Anders received and distributed the child pornography through the use of the peer to peer file sharing software Limewire. An undercover investigation resulted in the downloading of child pornography from an IP address that ultimately came back to Anders. The Davenport Police Department obtained a search warrant for the Anders residence. A subsequent forensic examination of Anders’ computer found additional child pornography. A number of the images were of known child victims previously identified by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
This investigation was conducted by the Davenport, IA, Police Department and the Iowa Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
