Davenport Man Sentenced on Child Pornography Charges
Davenport, IA- On September 8, 2009, Dennis Eugene Humphries, 56 of Davenport, IA, was sentenced to 70 months imprisonment for one count of Receiving Child Pornography and 70 months imprisonment for one count of Possessing Child Pornography, with the terms of imprisonment to be served concurrently, announced United States Attorney Matthew G. Whitaker. United States District Judge John A. Jarvey also ordered that Humphries serve a term of 10 years supervised release following his incarceration and pay $200 to the Crime Victim Fund.
This case started with a tip to the Iowa Department of Public Safety from an individual who, while helping Humphries with some computer issues, saw what appeared to be child pornography on his computer. A subsequent search warrant executed at Humphries residence and forensic analysis of his computer yielded numerous images of child pornography. A number of the images were received through Yahoo.
This investigation was conducted by the Davenport, IA, Police Department and the Iowa Crimes Against Children task Force.
