DAVENPORT MAN SENTENCED ON FEDERAL FIREARMS CHARGES
DAVENPORT- On September 15, 2009, Ryan Lee Minch, age 29, of Davenport, Iowa was sentenced by United States District Court Judge John A. Jarvey to 18 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to possession of a firearm as a felon, announced United States Attorney Matthew G. Whitaker. Minch was also ordered to serve three years of supervised release after his imprisonment.
On December 12, 2008, the Davenport Police Department conducted a search of Minch’s residence in Davenport. Inside the residence, officers seized approximately 7.8 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a loaded 9 mm handgun. Minch had been previously convicted of a felony in 1998 and 2001 in Rock Island County.
This case was prosecuted in the United States Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of Iowa. This investigation was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and the Davenport Police Department.
