KNOXVILLE MAN SENTENCED ON FEDERAL FIREARM CHARGES
DES MOINES- On September 17, 2009, Daniel Lawrence Fisher, of Knoxville, Iowa, was sentenced to a term of 77 months’ imprisonment for felon in possession of a firearm, announced United States Attorney, Matthew G. Whitaker. United States District Court Judge James E. Gritzner also imposed a three-year term of supervised release following Fisher’s incarceration, and imposed a $100 crime victim fund assessment.
On September 19, 2008, Fisher was arrested after being found in possession of firearms after previously being convicted of a felony offense. Fisher pled guilty to the charge of felon in possession on March 13, 2009. This case was prosecuted in the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa.
This investigation was conducted by the Knoxville Police Department, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, the South Central the Central Iowa Drug Task Force and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
