Boise Man Indicted for Illegally Possessing a Firearm
BOISE – Clark Christopher Brown, 29, of Boise, was indicted today by a federal grand
jury in Boise for unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of stolen firearms, U.S.
Attorney Wendy J. Olson announced.
The two count indictment alleges that on or about February 18, 2011, Brown was found
to be in possession of two guns allegedly stolen from a friend's house. Because Brown was
previously convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence, he is prohibited from
possessing firearms.
Each charge is punishable by up to ten years in prison, a maximum fine of $250,000, and
up to three years of supervised release.
The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives
(ATF).
An indictment is a means of charging a person with criminal activity. It is not evidence.
The person is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
