Two Southwest Idaho Men Admit to Distributing Meth
in Mountain Home

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
November 27, 2012

BOISE – U.S. Attorney Wendy J. Olson announced that two Idaho men pleaded guilty today in United States District Court to one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. Raul Garcia-Rosales, 39, of Mountain Home, Idaho, and Jaime Guerrero, 26, of Glenns Ferry, Idaho, are set for sentencing on February 12, 2013, before U.S. District Judge Edward J. Lodge at the federal courthouse in Boise.

According to the plea agreement, Garcia-Rosales admitted that on September 14, 2011, he received approximately one pound of methamphetamine from co-defendant Jamie Guerrero in Elmore County, Idaho, and then distributed it to an undercover officer at a truck stop in Mountain Home. Guerrero admitted that he supplied the methamphetamine to Garcia-Rosales. Both men acknowledged the substance they were distributing was methamphetamine.

The charge of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine is punishable by up to 20 years in prison, a maximum fine of $1 million, and at least three years of supervised release.

The case was the result of a joint investigation of the Organized Crime and Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF), led by the Idaho State Police and the Drug Enforcement Administration, in conjunction with the Elmore County Sheriff’s Office. The OCDETF program is a federal multi agency, multi-jurisdictional task force that supplies supplemental federal funding to federal and state agencies involved in the identification, investigation, and prosecution of major drug trafficking organizations. Federal task force members include the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the DEA, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Internal Revenue Service-Criminal Investigation, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), and U.S. Marshals Service.
