LOCAL BUSINESS MAN INDICTEDJerald Stuart Carlson, also known as Jerry Carlson, was indicted by a federal grand jury in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, on February 18, 2009. Carlson, 47, a resident of Hayden, Idaho, was indicted on conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine, possession with intent to deliver 500 grams or more of cocaine, and attempt to possess with intent to deliver 500 grams or more cocaine. Each count carries a maximum punishment of not less than five years and not more than 40 years in prison, a maximum fine of $2,000,000, supervised release of not less than 4 years, and a special assessment of $100. The case has been assigned to U.S. District Judge Edward J. Lodge. The Court will set Carlson’s initial appearance date. The case was investigated by the DEA and Idaho State Police. An indictment is a means of charging a person with criminal activity. It is not evidence. The person is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. |
