CHILD PORNOGRAPHER SENTENCED TO 5 YEARS

Jerry Hill, 49, will serve 60 months in federal prison followed by 15 years of supervised release for possession of material involving the sexual exploitation of minors, U.S. Attorney Tom Moss announced.

ICE agents identified Hill as a suspect during a nationwide child pornography investigation after they discovered his personal information and credit card data on a server that was facilitating payments for memberships to known child pornography websites.

In May 2007, agents were given permission to search Hill’s house in Boise, which was owned by his mother. They found two computers and one hard drive. Hill, who had moved to California and remarried, was contacted. Hill admitted that he had an addiction to child pornography and he knew it was wrong but was unable to stop. Hill then admitted he had started downloading child pornography at his California residence.

Hill entered a guilty plea to possession of sexually explicit images of minors in November 2008.
