MADISON COUNTY RESIDENT SENTENCED TO 235 MONTHS IMPRISONMENT FOR COCAINE DISTRIBUTION AND POSSESSION
Stephen R. Wigginton, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois, announced today that on November 24, 2010, ARTIMUS COLLIER, age 30, of Madison, Illinois, was sentenced in East St. Louis, Illinois,after previously pleading guilty to a two (2) count indictment charging him with one count of Possession of Crack Cocaine with the Intent to Distribute, in violation of Title 21, United States Code, Section 841(a)(1), and one count of Distribution of Crack Cocaine. The violations took place in 2008 in Madison County, Illinois. Today the defendant received a sentence of 235 months imprisonment, a $1000 fine, and 5 years of supervised release.
The case was investigated by the Metropolitan Enforcement Group of Southern Illinois, and was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Nicole Gorovsky.
