
GODFREY MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO COCAINE SALE CHARGES
Stephen R. Wigginton, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois, announced today that Arthur G. Widman, II, pled guilty on September 23, 2011, in United States District Court in East St. Louis to three federal charges relating to the sale of cocaine.
Widman, 37, of Godfrey, Illinois, pled guilty to two counts of selling cocaine on December 7, 2010, in Alton, Illinois, and to one count of possessing cocaine on December 8, 2010, with the intent to distribute it.
Widman’s sentence hearing is scheduled for 10:00 am on January 3, 2012, in United States District Court in East St. Louis. Widman faces a sentence of up to 20 years’ imprisonment.
The investigation that resulted in Widman’s conviction was conducted by the South Central Illinois Drug Task Force and by the Alton Police Department.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Robert L. Garrison.
