East Alton Man Sentenced to 10 Years for Distribution and Possession of Child Pornography
Stephen R. Wigginton, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois, announced today that on April 6, 2012, Michael Wyrozynski, 49, of East Alton, Ill., was sentenced by the federal court in East S. Louis to 10 years in prison and ordered to pay $1050 in fines and special assessments. The court also ordered that Wyrozynski be placed on supervised release for the remainder of his life after he is released from prison.
At his guilty plea on January 17, 2012, and later at his sentencing, Wyrozynski admitted that he possessed and distributed child pornography that included images and video recordings of prepubescent children, some of which depicted the children engaged in sex acts that included bondage and acts of sadistic and masochistic conduct. Wyrozynski committed the offenses utilizing a file sharing service on his home computer in East Alton, Illinois.
The investigation was conducted by the Illinois Attorney General’s High Tech Crime Bureau and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Ranley R. Killian.
