
Illegally Possessed Firearm Nets Man Over Three Years In Prison
Lonnie Edwards, 42, of East St. Louis, Illinois, was sentenced today in federal court in East
St. Louis to 37 months in prison, to be followed by one year of supervised release, for being a felon
in possession of a firearm, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois, Stephen
R. Wigginton, announced today.
Edwards had previously pleaded guilty to unlawfully possessing a semi-automatic pistol after
having previously been convicted of a felony offense.
The investigation was handled by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.
This case was assigned to Special Assistant United States Attorney Kelly Snyder for prosecution.
