A Marion, IL, man pled guilty to a federal indictment charging conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois, Stephen R. Wigginton, announced today.

On November 19, 2012, Jason S. Thorne, 32, pled guilty to a one-count indictment charging conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine. The conspiracy offense occurred between 2009 and 2011, in Williamson County. The factual basis at the plea hearing established that Thorne was involved with others in the manufacture of methamphetamine. Thorne supplied pseudoephedrine pills to others to use in the manufacture of methamphetamine. The offense carries a penalty of up to 20 years’ imprisonment, a fine of not more than $1 million, and a term of supervised release of at least 3 years.

The ongoing investigation is being conducted by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, Marion Police Department, Murphysboro Police Department, and Drug Enforcement Administration.

The case is assigned to Assistant United States Attorney Amanda A. Robertson for prosecution.
