
Washington Park Man Sentenced on Gun and Drug Charges
A Washington Park, Illinois, man was sentenced to a prison term in federal district court for Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana and Possession of a Firearm by a User of Marijuana on October 19, 2012, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois, Stephen R. Wigginton, announced today.
Antonio C. Allen, 37, was sentenced in federal district court in East St. Louis to 63 months in prison, 3 years’ supervised release, a $200 special assessment, and a fine of $250, following his plea of guilty, on June 4, 2012, to an Indictment charging him with Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana and Possession of a Firearm by a User of Marijuana. The charges relate to an incident that occurred on January 24, 2010, in Washington Park, Illinois, when law enforcement officers searched Allen’s house and recovered 2820 grams of marijuana, $5250 in cash, three digital scales, and a Ruger .40 caliber handgun. The sentencing judge also ordered forfeiture of the firearm, marijuana, and cash.
The case was investigated by members of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephen B. Clark.
