ST. LOUIS WOMAN SENTENCED ON DRUG OFFENSE
A. Courtney Cox, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois, announced today that on October 5, 2009, JENNIFER WILKINS, age 28, of St. Louis, Missouri, was sentenced to 121 months’ imprisonment. WILKINS was convicted on July 2, 2009, following a jury trial in U.S. District Court in East St. Louis, of one count of conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute “crack” and powder cocaine. Eleven of WILKINS’ co-defendants previously pled guilty and have been sentenced.
The investigation was conducted under the auspices of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force, which is designed to investigate, dismantle, and prosecute the most serious national and international drug organizations. The evidence for this prosecution was obtained in an investigation conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Daniel T. Kapsak.
