UNITED STATES ATTORNEY CHARGES

Fort Wayne, IN—The United States Attorney's Office announced that it filed an Information on April 12, 2006:

ROBERT J. GOINGS, JR., age 45, of Huntington, Indiana, was charged in a four count Information with failure to file federal individual income tax returns for the years 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002. These charges were filed as the result of an investigation by the Internal Revenue Service. This case has been assigned to and will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Anthony W. Geller, who can be reached at 260-422-2595 for any inquiries.

The specific sentence in each case to be imposed upon conviction will be determined by the judge after a consideration of federal sentencing statutes and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.

The United States Attorney's Office emphasized that an Information is merely an allegation and that all persons charged are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in court.
