Hatton August 10, 2006 PHONE: (219) 937-5603 Fax: (219) 852-2770 UNITED STATES ATTORNEY CHARGES Fort Wayne, IN The United States Attorney's Office announced that a Grand Jury sitting in Fort Wayne, Indiana, returned the following Indictments on July 25, 2006: Tommy E. Blair, age 49, Paul W. Blair, age 47 and Christina L. Langel, a/k/a Christina L. Blair, age 23, all of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Tommy Blair was charged with six counts of Wire Fraud and four counts of Mail Fraud and Aiding and Abetting involving knowingly and willfully devising and intending to devise a scheme and artifice to defraud and for obtaining money from an insurance company by means of false and fraudulent pretenses and representations from on or about October 2004 to April 2005. Paul W. Blair was charged with four counts, and Christina Langel, a/k/a Christina L. Blair was charged with one count, of Wire Fraud and Aiding and Abetting in connection with the same scheme and artifice. These charges were filed as the result of an investigation by the United States Postal Service. This case has been assigned to and will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Lovita Morris King, who can be reached at 260-422-2595 for any inquiries. Timothy W. Farmer, age 52, of Fort Wayne, Indiana was charged with three counts of unlawfully and willfully opening any letter or mail entrusted to him or which came into his possession intended to be conveyed by mail or carried or delivered by any carrier or other employee of the Postal Service or delivered from any post office or station thereof established by authority of the Postmaster General or the Postal Service Delay and unlawfully and willfully embezzle, steal, abstract or remove any article or thing contained in a letter which had been entrusted to him or which came into his possession intended to be conveyed by mail or carried or delivered by any carrier or other employee of the Postal Service or delivered from any post office or station thereof established by authority of the Postmaster General or the Postal Service on July 11, 2006. These charges were filed as the result of an investigation by the United States Postal Service. This case has been assigned to and will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Tina L. The specific sentence in each case to be imposed upon conviction will be determined by the judge after a consideration of federal sentencing statutes and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.
