FEDERAL GRAND JURY IN SOUTH BEND RETURNS INDICTMENT

South Bend, IN—The United States Attorney's Office announced that a Grand Jury sitting in South Bend, Indiana, returned the following Indictment on August 8, 2007:

CRYSTAL KRUPER, age 32, of Portage, Indiana, was charged in a two count Indictment with one count of theft/embezzlement of public money, property, or records (SSA benefits) and one count of Social Security fraud/payments. These charges were filed as the result of an investigation by the Social Security Administration. This case has been assigned to and will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Jesse Barrett, who can be reached at 574-2368287 for any inquiries.

The specific sentence in each case to be imposed upon conviction will be determined by the judge after a consideration of federal sentencing statutes and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.
