VALPARAISO MAN SENTENCED IN CHILD PORNOGRAPHY CASE

Hammond, IN—The United States Attorney’s Office today announced that JUSTIN MOORE, age 28, of Valparaiso, Indiana, was sentenced to 210 months on each of 2 counts (concurrent), charging him with distribution of child pornography and possession of child pornography respectively.

Moore was indicted by a grand jury following an FBI investigation initiated by the FBI Innocent Images Squad, who discovered advertisements for child pornography on certain Internet web sites. The Innocent Images agents followed up and made electronic contact with Moore's file server, and were able to download a number of computer images which were determined to contain child pornography. The case was referred to the FBI Merrillville office, and a search warrant was executed in September, 2005. Analysis of Moore's computer hard drive revealed thousands of child pornography images and movie files. The images involved children as young as five years of age, and also involved images with sadistic content. Judge Philip Simon also sentenced Moore to 3 years' supervised release following his release from prison.

This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Bernard L. Van Wormer and David J. Nozick.
