FEDERAL GRAND JURY RETURNS INDICTMENTS

Hammond, IN—The United States Attorney's Office announced that a Grand Jury sitting in Hammond, Indiana, returned the following Indictments on November 7, 2007:

BRODIE D. TERPSTRA, 22, of West Lafayette, Indiana, was charged in a 1 count indictment with, having been under indictment for Residential Entry in Tippecanoe County, did willfully receive ammunition, to wit: one hundred (100) rounds of Remington .22 caliber ammunition; twenty (20) rounds of Winchester 30-06 ammunition; fifteen (15) rounds of Remington 12-gauge ammunition; twenty-five rounds of Winchester 12 gauge ammunition; and five (5) rounds of Hornady 20-gauge ammunition. Upon conviction, Terpstra will forfeit any and all ammunition involved in the commission of the offense.

This case is being investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and the Lafayette Police Department. This case has been assigned to and will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Nicholas J. Padilla.

MICHAEL BELL, 23, of New Castle, Indiana, was charged in a 1 count indictment with using the World Wide Web internet to attempt to persuade, induce, entice and coerce an individual whom the defendant believed to be a female minor unde the age of eighteen, but who was in fact, an undercover law enforcement officer, to engage in sexual activity for which a person may be charged with a criminal offense under Indiana law.

This case is being investigated by the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. This case has been assigned to and will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Philip

C. Benson.

The specific sentence in each case to be imposed upon conviction will be determined by the judge after a consideration of federal sentencing statutes and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.

The United States Attorney's Office emphasized that these indictments are merely allegations and that all persons charged are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in court.
