Fort Wayne, IN—The United States Attorney's Office announced that it filed an Information on September 22, 2008, and the defendant entered a plea of guilty on October 9, 2008. Defendant McKinney is scheduled to be sentenced on December 15, 2008.
LASHAUN MCKINNEY, age 40, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, was charged in a single count Information with receiving SSI benefits for a minor who had been removed from the home between on or about January 2008 and continuing to on or about June 2008. This charge was filed as the result of an investigation by the Social Security Administration. This case has been assigned to and will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Tina L. The specific sentence in each case to be imposed upon conviction will be determined by the judge after a consideration of federal sentencing statutes and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.
