ACTIVITY IN FEDERAL COURT - HAMMOND

 

 

Hammond, Indiana—The United States Attorney's Office announced the following activity in federal court:

 

Jesus Sotelo-Diaz, 34, of Merrillville, Indiana, was sentenced by Chief Judge Philip Simon to 30 months imprisonment and 3 years of supervised release after pleading guilty to count one of an indictment charging him with conspiracy to distribute cocaine. This case was the result of an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration HIDTA Task Force. This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Jennifer Chang-Adiga.

 

Alvero Landeros, 28, of the 900 block of Old Lincoln Highway, Schererville, Indiana, was sentenced by Senior Judge James Moody to 97 months imprisonment and 4 years of supervised release consisting of 37 months on count one of an indictment and 60 months on count two, to be served consecutively, after pleading guilty to possession with the intent to distribute 500 or more grams of cocaine, and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. This case was the result of an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration. This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Joshua Kolar.
