ACTIVITY IN FEDERAL COURT - FORT WAYNE


Fort Wayne, IN—The United States Attorney's Office announced the following activity in federal court:

 

Amanda Alvather, 25, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, pled guilty before Magistrate Judge Roger Cosbey to count one of an indictment charging her with making false statements in an application for social security benefits. Sentencing has been set for 3/16/11. These charges were filed as the result of an investigation by the Social Security Administration. This case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Lesley Miller Lowery.

 

Robert Tapp, 68, of Heritage Drive, Fort Wayne, Indiana, was sentenced by Judge Theresa Springmann to 60 months imprisonment and 5 years of supervised release after pleading guilty to count one of an indictment charging him with receipt of material involving the sexual exploitation of a minor. These charges were filed as a result of an investigation by the Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force; FBI Cyber Crimes Task Force comprised of the Federal Bureau of Investigation the Allen County Sheriff’s Department, Fort Wayne Police Department Hamilton County Metro Child Exploitation Task Force and Indiana State Police. This case has been assigned to and will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Lesley Miller Lowery.

 

Oscar Gutierrez Lopez, 32, of S. Vine Street, Portland, Indiana, was sentenced by Judge Theresa Springmann to 70 months imprisonment and 5 years of supervised release after pleading guilty to count two of an indictment charging him with possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine. This case was the result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Indiana State Police, the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Portland Police Department, the Allen County Police Department, and the Allen County Drug Task Force. This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Anthony Geller.

 

Kwanya Hollopeter, 36, of Dodge Avenue, Fort Wayne, Indiana, was sentenced by Judge William Lee to 18 months imprisonment and 2 years of supervised release after pleading guilty to count one of an indictment charging her with counterfeiting and forging obligations of the United States, to wit; Federal Reserve notes . This case was the result of an investigation by the United States Secret Service, and the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department. This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Lovita Morris King.

 

Matthew Coleman, 28, of Bellwood Drive, Fort Wayne, Indiana, was sentenced by Judge William Lee to 48 months imprisonment and 3 years of supervised release after pleading guilty to count one of an indictment charging him with manufacture of marijuana. This case was the result of an investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, and the Fort Wayne Police Department. This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Anthony Geller.

 

 

 

The specific sentence in each case to be imposed upon conviction will be determined by the judge after a consideration of federal sentencing statutes and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.
