ACTIVITY IN FEDERAL COURT - FORT WAYNE

Fort Wayne, IN—The United States Attorney's Office announced the following activity in federal court:

Troy L. Hott, 50, of N. Clark Street, Markle, Indiana, pled guilty before Magistrate Judge Roger Cosbey to count one of an indictment charging him with use of interstate commerce facilities in the commission of murder-for-hire between July 29, 2010 and July 31, 2010. The complaint alleged that Hott tried to hire a person to murder his father for $2500. These charges were filed as the result of an investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Firearms, Tobacco, and Explosives, the Fort Wayne Police Department ATF Task Force Officers, and the Fort Wayne Police Department Gang Unit. This case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Tina Nommay.

The specific sentence in each case to be imposed upon conviction will be determined by the judge after a consideration of federal sentencing statutes and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.
