ACTIVITY IN FEDERAL COURT - HAMMOND
Hammond, Indiana—The United States Attorney's Office announced:
Nathaniel Josiah Worden, 29, of Valparaiso, Indiana, plead guilty on 2/8/10 before Judge Joseph Van Bokkelen to advertising child pornography. Worden also admitted that at the time he committed the offense charged, he was required by law to register as a sex offender. In October, 2002, Worden was convicted of the felony offense of Sexual Misconduct with a Minor, and sentenced to serve ten (10) years (two [2] years suspended) imprisonment. Sentencing has been set for April 29, 2010. This case was investigated by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Jill Trumbull Harris.
The specific sentence in each case to be imposed upon conviction will be determined by the judge after a consideration of federal sentencing statutes and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.
