FEDERAL GRAND JURY IN FORT WAYNE RETURNS INDICTMENTS


Fort Wayne, IN—The United States Attorney's Office announced that a Grand Jury sitting in Fort Wayne, Indiana, returned the following Indictments on December 16, 2009:

 

David B. Brown, 39, Fort Wayne, Indiana, is charged in a two count Indictment with receipt of material involving the sexual exploitation of minors on or about June 20, 2009, and possession of material involving the sexual exploitation of minors on or about July 22, 2009. These charges were filed as a result of an investigation by the Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force; FBI Cyber Crimes Task Force comprised of the Federal Bureau of Investigation the Allen County Sheriff’s Department, Fort Wayne Police Department Hamilton County Metro Child Exploitation Task Force and Indiana State Police. This case has been assigned to and will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Lesley Miller Lowery.

 

Robert Tapp, 67, Fort Wayne, Indiana, is charged in a two count Indictment with receipt of material involving the sexual exploitation of minors from on or about May 14, 2009 until on or about May 16, 2009, and possession of material involving the sexual exploitation of minors on or about July 20, 2009. These charges were filed as a result of an investigation by the Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force; FBI Cyber Crimes Task Force comprised of the Federal Bureau of Investigation the Allen County Sheriff’s Department, Fort Wayne Police Department Hamilton County Metro Child Exploitation Task Force and Indiana State Police. This case has been assigned to and will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Lesley Miller Lowery.

 

The specific sentence in each case to be imposed upon conviction will be determined by the judge after a consideration of federal sentencing statutes and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.

 

The United States Attorney's Office emphasized that an Indictment is merely an allegation and that all persons charged are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in court.
